  Join us as KALCA’s Steering Committee hosts its third annual Winter Benefit at Circle on Thursday, February 2 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm with an open bar from 7 -8 pm and free appetizers.

Your generous support will enable KALCA to continue investing in the future generation of Asian American public service leaders through our Public Interest College Internship and Civic Leadership programs.

Tickets are $40 online until January 12th, $50 thereafter online and $70 at the door.  For a group of five or more, you can purchase online tickets for $40 per person until February 1st.

Attendees are welcome to stay at Circle until closing. Festive/cocktail attire is strongly encouraged and for our past Winter Benefit pictures visit our facebook page.

KALCA Fall Happy Hour Fundraiser

A big thank you to all of you who have attended our May Pre-Gala happy hour.  We appreciate your continued support for the Korean American League for Civic Action (KALCA).  On Tuesday, November 1st from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm, the KALCA Steering Committee will be hosting our Fall Happy Hour Fundraiser at Ichiumi at 6 E. 32nd Street. 

Ticket price is $10 until October 31st and and $20 at the door.  There are only 150 tickets available and this happy hour will sell out as we usually have over 200 people in attendance.  Due to the venue capacity, there will be very limited amount of tickets sold at the door so please purchase your online ticket today.   Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
 
All funds raised will go toward our Public Interest College Summer Internship Program and our new Civic Leadership Program for high school and college students. 
 
The KALCA College Internship Program wrapped up its 11th summer and Minje Shin, a junior at Boston College, and member of this year’s internships class reports with a first-hand perspective of the experience shared by the Class of 2011.  Read the article here.
 
KALCA is proud to introduce the new Civic Leadership Program. In its inaugural year, 25 high school and college students explored ways in which they can contribute to the community regardless of their career goals. The program included visits to government agencies, panels for career exploration, leadership workshops on interviewing and networking, and a team community service project.  Read an article regarding their experience by a Civic Leader participant Wen Hao Wang.

This panel features the new generation of Asian American entrepreneurs in the fields of media, technology, and design who consciously give back to their surrounding communities. Peter Kang and Sei-Wook Kim of Barrel have been actively involved in the New York City Asian American community, and Esther Mun and Tina Chang of Little Fury have also exhibited social responsibility by donating 5% of their profits from Start Here Mart to healinghaiti.org and opportunity.org.
