KALCA was founded in June 2000 by three public-minded citizens who decided to take action toward improving the low rates of civic participation in the Korean American and Asian Pacific American communities.

Based on the premise that an engaged electorate could improve civil society and America’s democracy, KALCA provides leadership training and civic education through our Internship Program, Educational Programs, Leadership Development Program, and Voter Education & Mobilization Project.

KALCA works to build relationships with other Korean American, Asian American and ethnic minority organizations, strengthening partnerships inside and outside of the Korean American community.
